Acceptable Use Policy
Effective Date: March 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the rules and guidelines for using the Vokos application,
website, and associated AI services. By accessing or using Vokos, you agree to comply with this policy. We
designed Vokos to be a powerful study aid, and this policy ensures the platform remains safe, legal, and
functional for everyone.
1. Academic Integrity
Vokos is an educational tool designed to help you synthesize information, test your knowledge, and study
efficiently. It is not a tool for academic dishonesty.
You may NOT use Vokos to:
- Cheat on live examinations, proctored tests, or timed assessments.
- Generate text to submit as your own original coursework (plagiarism).
- Violate the honor code, academic policies, or rules of your educational institution or professional
certification board.
Vokos is not liable for any disciplinary action, academic failure, or professional consequences resulting
from your misuse of the platform.
2. Copyright and Intellectual Property
Vokos allows users to upload PDFs and extract text from YouTube URLs. You are solely responsible for the
content you process through our Agent.
- You must have the legal right to use the materials you upload. Do not upload pirated
textbooks, illegally obtained lecture recordings, or paywalled documents that you do not have a license
to possess.
- You may not use Vokos to mass-scrape, reproduce, or distribute copyrighted material for commercial gain.
- If you use the "Share Stack" feature, you must ensure that sharing the generated flashcards does not
violate the intellectual property rights of the original author or publisher.
We respond to valid notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
(DMCA). If we determine you are repeatedly using the platform to process infringing material, your account
will be terminated.
3. Prohibited Content
You may not use Vokos to upload, process, generate, or share content that:
- Is unlawful, defamatory, libelous, or promotes illegal activities.
- Contains explicit sexual content, pornography, or non-consensual intimate imagery.
- Promotes violence, hate speech, terrorism, or discrimination against any group.
- Contains malicious code, viruses, malware, or any other software designed to disrupt the application or
the devices of other users.
- Violates the privacy rights, publicity rights, or other personal rights of others.
4. Abuse of AI and Infrastructure
Our AI models and cloud infrastructure are expensive to run. We offer free limits and paid tiers to balance
these costs. You agree not to abuse the system.
- No Automation: You may not use bots, scripts, automated web scrapers, or unauthorized
APIs to access Vokos, generate flashcards, or bypass our rate limits.
- No Paywall Bypassing: You may not attempt to circumvent, disable, or hack the freemium
token engine, the Vokos Pro paywall, or our Stripe integration.
- No Overloading: You may not intentionally attempt to crash, overload, or perform
denial-of-service (DoS) attacks on our servers or AI processing endpoints.
5. Enforcement and Violations
We reserve the right, but do not assume the obligation, to investigate any violation of this AUP or misuse of
the Service. We may:
- Investigate violations of this Policy or misuse of the Service.
- Remove, disable access to, or modify any Content or resource that violates this Policy.
- Suspend or permanently terminate your Vokos account without prior notice.
