Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 2026
At Vokos ("we", "our", or "us"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit
our website or use our application.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, as well as data generated automatically when you use
our app.
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and an
encrypted password.
- User-Generated Content: We store the study materials you input into the Agent. This
includes raw text notes, uploaded PDF text extractions, YouTube URLs, generated flashcards, and your
study performance metrics (e.g., spaced repetition intervals, quiz scores).
- Payment Information: If you upgrade to Vokos Pro, your payment is processed securely by
our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not collect or store your credit card numbers. We only
receive a confirmation of your subscription status to grant you access to Pro features.
- Automatically Collected Data: We use Google Analytics to collect standard internet log
information and details of visitor behavior patterns (such as IP addresses, browser types, and usage
data) to improve our service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect strictly to operate and improve Vokos:
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Vokos platform and your cloud sync.
- To process your inputs through our backend AI infrastructure to generate study stacks, summaries, and
quizzes.
- To process your payments and manage your subscription.
- To track spaced repetition performance and optimize your study schedule.
- To monitor application performance, identify bugs, and improve the user experience.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data to data brokers or marketers. We only share your
information with trusted third-party service providers necessary to run the application:
- Infrastructure Providers: We use Google Cloud/Firebase to securely host the
application, authenticate users, and store database records.
- AI Processing Partners: The raw text, notes, and URLs you submit are transmitted to our
third-party Artificial Intelligence API partners to generate your flashcards and audits. We do not use
your personal study data to train our own foundational AI models.
- Payment Processors: We securely transmit necessary account identifiers to Stripe to
facilitate subscription billing.
- Analytics Providers: With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand website
traffic.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our app. We deploy a cookie consent
banner upon your first visit. You have the right to accept or decline non-essential tracking cookies (like
Google Analytics). Essential cookies required for user authentication and security cannot be disabled.
5. Data Retention and Security
Your data is stored securely on cloud servers. We implement commercially reasonable technical and
organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access. We retain your account
information and study stacks for as long as your account is active.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location (such as under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA in California), you have specific
rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access: You can view the data we hold about you by logging into your account
workspace.
- Right to Rectification: You can update your study materials directly within the app.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You can delete specific stacks by moving
them to "Digital Hoarding" and burning the trash. Furthermore, you can utilize the "Nuke All Data"
function within the app's settings to permanently wipe your library from our servers.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the
"Effective Date" at the top of this policy and, for significant changes, providing notice within the
application.
